Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations Bessho talked rubbish that the time is not yet ripe to apply an exception to the resolution of sanctions on north Korea and he would appeal to various countries to strictly implement the sanctions resolution in contact with the U.S.
It seems that Japan has not yet been awakened from its year-long daydream about "sanctions and pressure."
The rubbish let out by Bessho only proves that he is ignorant of what is going on now.
Witnessing the situation of the Korean peninsula which has undergone a dramatic change this year, the international community keenly realized the significance of peace and stability in the region.
The world has chosen this year's political situation of the Korean peninsula as the greatest event, appreciating the proactive and positive steps taken by the DPRK for peace and stability.
Many countries have turned out in the efforts for dialogue and new relations with the DPRK and the calls for relaxing and lifting the sanctions on the DPRK are getting louder worldwide. This is drawing the public attention.
NHK reported that China, Russia and other countries are raising their voices requesting the sanctions committee to examine the apply of an exception to the sanctions resolution on north Korea amid the brisk dialogue between north Korea and other countries.
This shows that dialogue and peace are an irresistible trend of the times and a realistic way to give steady continuity to the current climate of detente.
But Japan is swimming against this.
It is keen on spouting such trite wicked words as "sanctions and pressure" and remains unchanged in its policy of confrontation with the DPRK.
Japan, a political dwarf which has come under bitter denunciation and rejection by the international community for its bad habit of seeking benefits in the troubled waters, dares to challenge the strong trend of peace and stability in the region. This is, indeed, ridiculous.
Japan had better control its tongue, aware of where it is standing in the international arena.
Regretfully, Japan cannot take part in the dialogue over the issue of the Korean peninsula. This is because it is bat-blind in politics.
Continuing impudent remarks only betray the awful design of the Abe cult to disturb peace and security by interfering in the regional issue.
If Japan persistently goes against the trend of the times, it will never escape the fate of isolation in discussing the issues of the Korean peninsula, the region and the world. -0-

The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE),the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee For Peace and Reunification on the Korean (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement supporting the Open Questionnaire issued by the Korea Association for Human Rights Studies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday 30th of December:
In 2018 many changes took place on the Korean peninsula and a DPRK-US summit was held , something which seemed impossible and unimaginable before .However despite these changes the old 'human rights ' gang of US imperialism , is still harping on about human rights in the DPRK . The vituperation of the so-called 'human rights ' lobby , who are better described as the human rights schemers , is like an old worn-out gramophone record stuck in the same groove .
Regrettably , the UN General Assembly even went to the extreme of passing a resolution on the non-existent human rights situation in the DPRK at the instigation of the US and other Western imperialist countries .
The DPRK Korea Association for Human Rights Studies flings back the false accusation with a series of questions which basically point out that the DPRK is a people-centred country , that people enjoy rights to healthcare and education etc , that there are no unemployed or homeless people in the DPRK . Moreover the Korean people are free of the decadence of imperialist culture such as pornography.
The Open Questionaire points out "There are many countries in the world, but the DPRK is the one and only country where the state builds dwelling houses and provides them to people free of charge and ordinary people like workers, farmers, teachers, researchers and office workers move into splendid houses in Ryomyong Street, Mirae Scientists Street and other streets without paying even a penny. Perhaps, all of you are so fearful that homeless people sleeping curled up in subways and waiting rooms in New York and Washington may know such a fairytale story that was already materialized in the DPRK.". We would add that in the UK , one of the countries that has sponsored
anti-DPRK human rights resolutions , the numbers of homeless people are rising by the day and many people have to go to Foodbanks for food and the unemployed have been forced into unpaid
slave labour.
We applaud and support the Open Questionnaire of the DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies and hope that it will have a wide circulation .

Open Questionnaire to Human Rights Schemers Issued
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The Korea Association for Human Rights Studies on Sunday raised an open questionnaire, in which it said that this year 2018 has witnessed a great change in the world political trend and in particular, warm wind of peace swept the Korean Peninsula and the region, drawing the public attention.
The questionnaire said that the world has undergone amazing changes, but only the U.S. and its followers remain unchanged in their mean and stupid ambition to stifle the DPRK.
Shortly ago, the U.S. and its followers at a full-dress session of the United Nations General Assembly fabricated another "resolution on human rights in north Korea" malignantly slandering the dignity and system of the DPRK while letting out abuses like "extensive and serious violation of human rights" and "probe into responsibility", it noted.
The association, on behalf of the Korean people and the conscience of mankind, made the following questions to the U.S. and its vassal forces hell-bent on turning black into white and the UN playing a role of rubber stamp for the U.S. against the international justice and impartiality:
1. Is there any country on the earth like the DPRK where the people fully enjoy political freedom and democratic rights as masters of the society?
We'd like to ask if you have ever heard of such political terms as politics based on the people-first doctrine and politics of respecting and loving the people and the motto of prioritizing the interests of the people, holding them absolute and making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of people.
2. Can you pick out any country like the DPRK that has no jobless person and vagabond?
We'd like to ask if you, bat-blinds, have no nerve to believe that there is the country unique on this planet, where all the working people are living a creative working-life to their hearts' content, free from unemployment and worry about job.
3. Can you imagine such social policies of the DPRK for its people as free education, free medical treatment and free provision of dwelling houses from the state?

Those countries had better understand where they live in, the sunny world or the dark world and the civilized world or the barbarous world, before talking about someone's performance of "human rights".
5. Can you pinpoint any land of human love, except the DPRK, in the world map?
The U.S. had better work hard to clean its dirty face before slandering others.
6. It is just the time for the U.S.-led hostile forces and the UN to throw away the old drum of "human rights" racket against the DPRK, isn't it?
Why does the U.S. fail to give up the old prejudice and hostility even after the publication of the DPRK-U.S. joint statement in Singapore?
Until when will the UN go with the ill fame of American empire's puppet, bereft of international justice and impartiality, resorting to anti-DPRK "human rights" racket, little short of state-sponsored political terrorism?
Falsity gives in to truth and darkness to brightness.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Has Photo Session with Activists in Agricultural Field
When Kim Jong Un arrived at the venue of the photo session, all the participants enthusiastically welcomed him.
He highly praised the agricultural workers, rural junior officials and scientists and technicians for displaying patriotism with pure conscience to bring about rich harvest on the fields of the socialist country, cherishing the behests of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who worked heart and soul to solve the food problem of the people, walking on farm roads all their lives.
He warmly encouraged those who received the title of Labor Hero, the highest honor of the DPRK citizen, for their vanguard role in the drive for implementing the Party's farming-first policy, saying that he would meet them again after reaping richer harvest next year.
He had a photo session with the participants, expressing expectation and belief that the participants in the meeting would stage a stronger campaign for the increased grain production throughout the country by ceaselessly increasing the number of high-yield farms, work-teams and sub-workteams and the ranks of high-yield farmers, bearing deep in mind the intention of the Party Central Committee which set the agricultural front as the major thrust in the building of an economic giant.
Present there were leading officials of the Party and the government Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Pong Ju, Ro Tu Chol, Pak Thae Dok, Kim Nung O, Ko In Ho, Ri Chol Man and Kwak Pom Gi and the chairpersons of the provincial party committees. -0-
Yet another anti-DPRK book by a Yankee author-a review of "See You Again in Pyongyang "
There is an unending deluge of anti-DPRK books being produced , indeed they are being turned out on an industrial scale(literally hundreds ) by the massive anti-DPRK propaganda machine of the West that is run by the US Central Intelligence Agency, the mega-corporations and the global elite . It is difficult for true friends of People's Korea to refute all these venomous propaganda ., However we are going to look at some of it and answer it . A friend of ours alerted to this book written by one Travis Jeppesen , This is a bit different to some of the rubbish turned out because Jeppesen has actually stayed in the DPRK . It is a fact that most anti-DPRK authors have never ever set foot in the DPRK , a bit like Orwell who had never visited the Soviet Union but wrote the anti-Soviet 'Animal Farm' and
'1984'. The nearest a lot of professional DPRK bashers actually got to the DPRK was Seoul ..Jeppesen actually visited the DPRK in 2012 and was a student on a foreign language course at a the Kim Hyong Jik university in 2016.However despite this , See You Again in Pyongyang' is a ghastly , nasty and cynical piece of vile anti- DPRK material.
From what is known of Jeppesen he is a very cosmopolitan American travelling and living in a lot of countries .Obviously There does not seem to be too much biographical detail about him , the famed internet reference source the Wikipedia does not mention a date of birth , birthplace or educational details , Jeppesen appears to be yet another character who has parachuted in from nowhere to become a 'DPRK expert '.It should be added that Jeppesen's so-called ' expertise' on the DPRK is based on several visits .Jeppesen is part of a shadowy and cliquey cabal of so-called 'experts ' on the DPRK who are invariably wheeled out by the imperialist and bourgeois mainstream media to slander People's Korea and the great Juche idea.
Significantly Jeppesen writes in the introduction to the book that "Comrade Kim Nam Ryong, for instance, is a composite of men I have encountered, befriended, or otherwise learned about, some current and others former residents of Pyongyang, and the Korean State Travel Company he works for is a fictional hybrid based on knowledge I have gleaned about the operations at several of the country’s state-owned tourism bureaus". An admission by Jeppesen that this is actually a less than factual account , that it includes elements of fiction . Jeppesen has also based his book on accounts from defectors who have time and time again been proved to be liars and whose accounts have been torn to shreds . Jeppesen's work is reminiscent of an earlier anti-DPRK book 'Nothing to Envy ' by one Barbara Demick was a fictionalised account based on anecdotes from defectors(a witty description could be a fictionalised account of fiction,double fiction). Material from defectors is included in the bibliography as well as George Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm . In fact Jeppesen used Animal Farm as a reference point and quotes from it Needless to say that Orwell was shown to be a later an MI6 informant and a nasty one at that , a real grass denouncing other writers to the security services . Orwell had also been a colonial policeman and an extreme anti-Irish racist who got into a massive personal feud with the Irish playwright Sean O Casey . So Jeppesen did not got to the DPRK with an open mind but with his head stuffed full of George Orwell and other anti-communist writers , in other words with big preconceptions rather than going to the DPRK with an open mind.
Jeppesen actually quotes from the awful 'Animal Farm' in the book making a direct comparison between the DPRK and Orwell's novel which was supposedly about the Soviet Union although Orwell never ever once set foot in the Soviet Union . Jeppesen makes the claim that everyone in the
DPRK is brought up to refer to ordinary US citizens as 'American bastards ' . A massive distortion of facts . Although the DPRK does indeed carry a most thoroughgoing anti-imperialist education and teaches people about the horrendous atrocities committed by the US imperialists but Korean people are taught to distinguish between the US imperialists ( ie the US state , monopolies , government , bureaucracy , military and intelligence services) and ordinary American people . President
Kim Il Sung told the US journalist Harrison E Salisbury that "we oppose the reactionary policies of the US government but we do not oppose the American people. We want to have many good friends in the United States " , a quote which sums up in a nutshell the attitude of the DPRK towards US citizens . When I was in the DPRK in 2008 my guides comrades Choe and Comrade Han of the Korean Association of Social Scientists said that not all Americans are bad , there are some progressive Americans . They spoke highly of the Workers' World Party of the US and the US Communist Party .
Jeppesen writes "I knew about the concentration camps, I knew about the systematic injustices perpetrated by the regime against the populace" but he never saw a single 'concentration camp' during his time in the DPRK , so how did he know about such things . The answer is obvious , from propaganda in the mainstream media and fairytale accounts from defectors . Basically Jeppesen is not really providing a first hand account of the DPRK but rehashing anti-DPRK propaganda and trying to make it look realistic throwing a bit of travelogue . A clever trick.
Time does not allow for a detailed and intense refutation of Jeppesen's lies but lets look at a few things . Firstly , Jeppesen speaks of 'the famine of the 1990s' . Suffice to say that a delegation of the Juche Idea Study Group of England was in the DPRK in 1996 and did not see any 'famine' . Yes there were food shortages and it was not a good time for Korean people but mass starvation did not occur . For those who like Jeppesen believe there was a famine , they should refer to the population statistics for the DPRK which show a modest growth for the period rather than a decline that would have occurred . Secondly, Jeppesen mixes old style anti-communist propaganda with post modern liberal propaganda . This results in Jeppesen trying to portray the DPRK as being both being a 'totalitarian
communist regime ' and a capitalist regime at the same time . Of course such a thing is nonsense , an impossibility . Jeppesen does not say when exactly capitalism was restored in the DPRK and cannot point to a counter-revolution which restored capitalism in the DPRK . In fact the DPRK actually executed the anti-party factionalist traitor in December 2013 for trying to restore capitalism . In fact I have been told several times there is are no private companies or private ownership in the DPRK . This is stipulated in the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK .Article 19 of the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK states that "The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea relies on socialist relations of production and on the foundation of an independent national economy " and Article 20 says that
"In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea the means of production are owned by the State and social, cooperative organizations." . Maybe Jeppesen should have made a deep study of the DPRK Constitution and other materials from the DPRK before writing his book. Jeppesen just bangs on
about the 'dongju ' class and the elite . I have never heard anyone in the DPRK talk about the dongju class . As for the 'elite' the DPRK is one of the most egalitarian societies in the world ,income differentials are low and officials take part in manual labour. It is ironic for Jeppesen to talk about an elite in the DPRK because Jeppesen is part of the US capitalist elite . It has been shown that only a very small percentage of Americans actually travel abroad and hold passports . Jeppesen with his lucrative publishing contracts from the corporate media is a very privileged person. Thirdly , Jeppesen repeats the CIA's postmodernist line on Juche dismissing it as a "ultra-nationalist ideology', this is criminal slander on the Juche idea which Jeppesen then compounds by repeating the ridiculous south Korean fairy story about the Juche Idea being created by a certain traitor . This is just rubbish. The Juche idea was first put forward by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung at the historic Kalun meeting in 1930 . Juche of course stresses independence , Juche recognises that independence is the life and soul of humans but this is not the same as saying that a country should 'go it alone'. What Juche means is that a country should be totally independent , politically independent and reject subordination to others and dependence on others. This does not mean co-operation with others is rejected or that the Juche idea means turning one's back on internationalism , far from it . Guided by the Juche idea , the DPRK has always been internationalist , it has supported revolutionary and anti-imperialist struggles in many countries such as Vietnam , Cuba, Angola and other places. Fourthly , Jeppesen ludicrously claims that ' there were no communists in North Korea at the time of division.'
What ,what ,what Mr Jeppesen , have you been at the wacky baccy again or something ? What a silly statement ! In fact underground units of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army , which included, led by great general Kim Il Sung , were actually active in many areas of north Korea prior to liberation and led armed uprisings in August 1945. The Communist Party of North Korea was founded in October 1945 and had 4,000 plus members, how on earth can Jeppesen say there were no communists in the north of Korea. Of course this nonsense does have a sinister and insidious purpose , namely to deny the legitimacy of the DPRK. Jeppesen's work is part of a propaganda operation by US imperialism and world imperialism to 'de legitimise ' the DPRK . Fifthly , some of the worst slander and vilification is reserved for the DPRK 's true friend and defenders ,the Korean Friendship Association. Jeppesen cites the anti DPRK , anti KFA propaganda film ' Friends of Kim ' made with CIA backing . Jeppesen, referring to our KFA president comrade Alejandro Cao De Benos even writes " I’ve never met a North Korean who actually likes Alejandro or shows much appreciation for the work he does on behalf of their country" !!! . What unbelievable tosh ! . How does Jeppesen account for the fact that that comrade Alejandro holds several medals from the DPRK , that DPRK films have been made about Alejandro .Other KFA Officials such as myself have also received medals. If KFA is so unimportant and insignificant why is the KFA Medal First Class displayed in the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun ? . In fact I was speaking to comrade Ryu Kyong Il director of thevEurope Department of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations in August 2017 and he said distinctly ' I will not tolerate anyone speaking ill of Alejandro' . Jeppesen's remarks are aimed at undermining the loyal friends of the DPRK and instead promoting those elements who want to bring capitalism into the DPRK.The purpose is to promote regime change by silencing the voice of real friends of the DPRK .
Reading Jeppesen's book at times angry with the lies he tells and at other times could not but help laughing at the ridiculous things he said . Jeppesen has abused the hospitality and kindness of the Korean people showed to him by writing such a toxic , lying book .
We recommend that people instead of reading fake accounts of the DPRK by the likes of Jeppesen, Demick and others , instead read the many books produced by UK KFA and the Juche Idea Study Group of England , join KFA and become active by attending our meetings and above all visit the DPRK yourselves because seeing is believing.

It is ironic for Jeppesen to talk about an elite in the DPRK because Jeppesen is part of the US capitalist elite . It has been shown that only a very small percentage of Americans actually travel abroad and hold passports . Jeppesen with his lucrative publishing contracts from the corporate media is a very privileged person. Thirdly , Jeppesen repeats the CIA's postmodernist line on Juche dismissing it as a "ultra-nationalist ideology', this is criminal slander on the Juche idea which Jeppesen then compounds by repeating the ridiculous south Korean fairy story about the Juche Idea being created by a certain traitor . This is just rubbish. The Juche idea was first put forward by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung at the historic Kalun meeting in 1930 . Juche of course stresses independence , Juche recognises that independence is the life and soul of humans but this is not the same as saying that a country should 'go it alone'. What Juche means is that a country should be totally independent , politically independent and reject subordination to others and dependence on others. This does not mean co-operation with others is rejected or that the Juche idea means turning one's back on internationalism , far from it . Guided by the Juche idea , the DPRK has always been internationalist , it has supported revolutionary and anti-imperialist struggles in many countries such as Vietnam , Cuba, Angola and other places. Fourthly , Jeppesen ludicrously claims that ' there were no communists in North Korea at the time of division.'
What ,what ,what Mr Jeppesen , have you been at the wacky baccy again or something ? What a silly statement ! In fact underground units of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army , which included, led by great general Kim Il Sung , were actually active in many areas of north Korea prior to liberation and led armed uprisings in August 1945. The Communist Party of North Korea was founded in October 1945 and had 4,000 plus members, how on earth can Jeppesen say there were no communists in the north of Korea. Of course this nonsense does have a sinister and insidious purpose , namely to deny the legitimacy of the DPRK. Jeppesen's work is part of a propaganda operation by US imperialism and world imperialism to 'de legitimise ' the DPRK . Fifthly , some of the worst slander and vilification is reserved for the DPRK 's true friend and defenders ,the Korean Friendship Association. Jeppesen cites the anti DPRK , anti KFA propaganda film ' Friends of Kim ' made with CIA backing . Jeppesen, referring to our KFA president comrade Alejandro Cao De Benos even writes " I’ve never met a North Korean who actually likes Alejandro or shows much appreciation for the work he does on behalf of their country" !!! . What unbelievable tosh ! . How does Jeppesen account for the fact that that comrade Alejandro holds several medals from the DPRK , that DPRK films have been made about Alejandro .Other KFA Officials such as myself have also received medals. If KFA is so unimportant and insignificant why is the KFA Medal First Class displayed in the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun ? . In fact I was speaking to comrade Ryu Kyong Il director of thevEurope Department of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations in August 2017 and he said distinctly ' I will not tolerate anyone speaking ill of Alejandro' . Jeppesen's remarks are aimed at undermining the loyal friends of the DPRK and instead promoting those elements who want to bring capitalism into the DPRK.The purpose is to promote regime change by silencing the voice of real friends of the DPRK .
Reading Jeppesen's book at times angry with the lies he tells and at other times could not but help laughing at the ridiculous things he said . Jeppesen has abused the hospitality and kindness of the Korean people showed to him by writing such a toxic , lying book .
We recommend that people instead of reading fake accounts of the DPRK by the likes of Jeppesen, Demick and others , instead read the many books produced by UK KFA and the Juche Idea Study Group of England , join KFA and become active by attending our meetings and above all visit the DPRK yourselves because seeing is believing.

A supreme commander victorious in confrontation and in peace -special article by Dr Dermot Hudson to mark 7th anniversary of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN appointment as Supreme Commander of the KPA
Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN shortly after becoming Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army visited the historic Seoul Ryu Kyong Su no 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army , a unit that is profoundly steeped in revolutionary history as not only was it the army unit where the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL began his Songun revolutionary leadership on the 25th of August 1960 but it was also one of the first KPA units to reach Seoul during the liberation of south Korea from US imperialist rule in June 1950. This demonstrated the commitment of dear
respected Marshal KIM JONG UN to continue with the Songun revolutionary leadership started by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL,carrying out the behests of comrades KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL . Moreover it showed that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a supreme commander who loves his soldiers and is at one with his troops. Marshal KIM JONG UN always stresses the people-orientated style of leadership and always goes down to the basic units .
During the seven years that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has been at the helm of the revolutionary armed forces he visited many front-line units such as at Panmunjom as well artillery units on far flung areas which he travelled to a simple wooden boat .
Therefore the DPRK moved onto a new stage of development , namely rapid socialist economic construction under the banner of self-reliance and self-development . The fact that the DPRK had became a strategic state meant that the DPRK could sit down with the US as an equal negotiating
partner .Thanks to the correct policies of the DPRK and the efforts of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN the first ever DPRK-US summit was held in Singapore on the 12th of June 2018. This was an astonishing event that no one expected would happen . Indeed it had seemed like war between the DPRK and US was inevitable but thanks to the skill of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and the DPRK's deterrent force it this miracle of diplomacy happened . Also the DPRK was able to hold
3 inter-Korean summits and make a breakthrough in improving inter-Korean relations.
The DPRK put forward the line of denuclearising the entire Korean peninsula. At the time the imperialist mainstream media propagandised that the DPRK had agreed to unilateral nuclear disarmament and some pernicious so-called 'Korean experts ' pushed the line that the DPRK would restore capitalism . Some ultra-leftist elements accused the DPRK of 'selling out' and 'caveing into imperialism ' . However the DPRK under respected Marshal KIM JONG UN did not unilaterally
disarm and also kept to the socialist road . It also rejected the ideological and cultural infiltration of imperialism.
Thus respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a supreme commander, an iron-willed brilliant commander , victorious in the confrontation with the US and victorious in peace .

Prague, December 24, Juche 107 (2018) - In October this year, a book by Dermot Hudson entitled "Travels in the land of Juche Korea 1992-2017" was published in the UK, with the subtitle "Personal Recollections of visiting the Democratic People's Republic -travel notes and a bit of autobiographicalstuff '
Dermot Hudson is President of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, Chairman of the Juche Idea Study Group of England the official delegate of the Korean Friendship (KFA) for the UK, and a member of the International Songun Study Policy Committee, as well as the Doctor of Social Political Sciences (RSDr. ), awarded in the DPRK in 2016. He was born in London and grew up in poverty, after his father's death's when he was 11 , he was brought up only by his mother. At the age of 14 he became a member of the the Young Communist League in 1975 and 5 years later of the Communist Party of Great Britain. In the beginning of the book, he describes his path to Korean socialism, whose support he found after disappointment with other concepts of socialism, especially Soviet and West European ("Eurocommunist") revisionism, which at that time prevailed in the working class movement in Britain.
Post-graduate had to be ended prematurely by Comrade Hudson because of a lack of finance, and in the light of the peak economic crisis and the austerity measures of M. Thatcher's anti-people government, he was unemployed or only part-time worked. Only in 1989 he was appointed a lower civil servant at the Valuation Office. In 1983 he came to the first publication from the DPRK, the "Korea" pictorial magazine (published in the same form today) and soon to the next. "The small amount of DPRK literature which pulsed with revolutionary energy. It was in fact a contrast to the exhausted, half-drunk, boring or indigestible material of the British left, "he says .
Under the impression of Korean literature, comrades from the Young Communist League founded the Juche Idea Study Group. In May 1992, he first visited DPRK at the invitation of the Korean Society of Social Scientists (KASS), and for two weeks he studied at the Juche Academy in Mangyondae District on the outskirts of Pyongyang as part of a large group of students from many countries around the world. The visit was complicated by the fact that Britain and the DPRK did not have diplomatic relations until 2000. On the other hand, it was still possible to travel directly by Air Koryo from (formerly east) Berlin to Pyongyang. After the abolition of this route (as a result of the collapse of the Soviet bloc and the increasing counter-revolutionary pressure), it was necessary to travel via Moscow, and after the cancellation of the line to Moscow, the most common transfer destination for travel to North Korea, Beijing.
To the country of real socialism
True socialism in Korea was exalted by Comrade Hudson, as well as a comparison with the harsh revisionist and capitalized Hungary he had visited in the late 1980s. Despite the allegations of backwardness of socialism, he had seen in Korea a number of computers that the schoolchildren had bravado to handle, even though it was not common in Britain at that time. About Korean schoolchildren writes: "Their energy and liveliness astounded me so different from apathetic, disobedient and decadent teenagers in Western countries."
In connection with his first trip to Korea, Dermot Hudson recalls the decline of eastern Berlin after the fall of the GDR, and in October 1993 he had the opportunity to see the tragedy of restored capitalism in Moscow. All the more he was respecting Korean socialism, a proud and brave counter-revolutionary storm, without the support of foreign countries, but not without the support of progressive foreign friends who came to Korea from many regions. Just like a year earlier, he now had the opportunity to travel to the countryside, now for the first time by train. In addition to the usual goals commonly visited by foreigners in the DPRK, he was then a guest at the headquarters of the General Trade Union Federation of Korea or in a single agricultural cooperative in Sunan with his own nursery, school and hospital, including the birth department. He also visited the Korean family in their apartment.
The trip of a two-member British delegation in June and July 1994 was via Beijing. The author does not deny his negative impressions of "market socialism" in China. A similar experience is reported by many other DPRK supporters travailing through China, including me.
Among the attractions of this visit were a tour of the south Korean revolution and reunification halls of the Korean Revolution Museum , guided by a south Korean revolutionary.
The journey of Dermot Hudson and Shaun Pickford to Korea in June 1996 was the first after the fall of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung , when the Western media was full of reports of "famine" and "mass starvation" in the DPRK. "There was absolutely no sign of any" famine "or food queue," he adds. Comrade Pickford had serious health problems during his visit after having consumed bad food in China, and after examination by the doctor of the Juche Idea Academy was taken to Namsan Hospital, whose third floor is reserved for the treatment of foreign revolutionaries. Here after two days of care in the best conditions he healed.
During a visit to the Supreme People's Assembly, British comrades learned about the fact that MPs in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are elected ordinary working people and there is no parasitic layer of "professional politicians." They also noticed that many buses run in the countryside, while there are no or only one week in the British countryside. (That would be of interest to the small-mined men from the former "eastern block", whose minds are Britain's "paradise on earth", right next to the USA ...)
At that time, Korean social scientists criticized China for establishing relations with the south Korean puppet regime in 1992, betraying proletarian internationalism, and Vietnam for its inclination to the West, although DPRK provided considerable help in the anti-imperialist struggle. They said that China was exerting pressure on Korea to follow its line of "reforms" and "opening up", but the Korean side refused to do so.
DPRK at the time faced an extremely difficult blockade, not only as a result of sanctions, but also because of Russia's and China's demand for payment in dollars. It was necessary to grow corn in unusual places, such as in the Namsan Hospital or the Juche Idea Academy But no one was starving or badly dressed. In connection with the second visit to the Sunan co-operative farm, the author notes that "agriculture and industry in the DPRK are governed very democratically, farmers choose the chairman of the cooperative, it is like choosing his boss, something unimaginable in the so-called" advanced democracies of the "West."
The British comrades held a symposium on social issues in Britain with academics from the Korean Social Sciences Association. Disappointment was the meeting with the then president of the Juche Idea Academy and the international secretary of the WPK Hwang Jang Yop, who had an ideologically insignificant impression and expressed his admiration for the Britain he had visited. In the spring of 1997, Hwang flew to south Korea through his Embassy in Beijing. Then it became clear that he had committed embezzlement and led decadent life. In the New Century
Another visit to People's Korea was made by comrade Hudson after a period of six years, he had been unable to travel due to family and financial reasons.April 2002. At the invitation of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Korean Committee for Friendship with British People, he celebrated the 90th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade Kim Ir Sena . At that time he was a member of the Korean Friendship Associaiton (KFA), founded in November 2000. (In addition, he became a member of the New Communist Party Britain, from which he left in 1997 and returned to it in 2014.) At the National Day Meeting the sun saw the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il . "The respect of the people of the DPRK for their leaders is absolutely true, unprepared and certainly not directed or directed," he says .
Dermot Hudson spoke with other foreign delegates at the Chollima House of Culture , a meeting which eneded with Internationale. In spite of the continual lies of the reactionaries about the "famine", the harvest of rice, corn, apples, and tomatoes was in full swing, except for the record haul of fish in the West Sea. In Pyongyang, other cities, or in rural areas from Sariwon to Sinch, "there is again no sign of starvation, no beggars or homeless people, as we have in London . " There was a lot of food and drink at the picnic with the brewers and miners. "DPRK implements a people-oriented policy. Housing is free, basic food is sold at low prices. Education from the nursery to the university is free of charge. University students do not have to pay the tuition fees, but they get free uniforms and stay free on the dorms (as opposed to high rents for students in London). Healthcare is also free of charge. The biggest cultural event was a torchlight march of youth and a performance on a floating island on the Taedong River with 10,000 performers. Dream Fulfillment - Doctorate in DPRK

Among the interesting places visited on this occasion was the Pyongchon Revolutionary Site, where the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung in December 1948 tested the first Korean submachine gun, accompanied by the heroine of the anti-Japanese wary comrade Kim Jong Suk and the great leader of comrade Kim Jong Il . At this point, dear dear Marshal Kim ong Un, on December 6, 2015, announced that DPRK produced the first hydrogen self-sufficiency bomb.
Foreign visitors to less well-known localities such as the Jongsung Revolutionary Museum, the underground HQ of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung during the Fatherland Liberation War.
Staying in Korea in September 2016 took place on the occasion of the International Seminar on the idea of anti-imperialism, independence and solidarity organized by the Korean Association of Social Scientists and the International Institute of Juche Idea. Again, the improvement of the people's standard of living was evident, as was the construction of a new Ryongmyong Street for 20,000 people. During the visit, DPRK conducted a nuclear test on 9 September 5, and Comrade Hudson was present at a ceremony on this occasion at the Ponghwa Theater. Also remarkable was the visit of a new Pyongyang High School for Orphans with a classroom for anti-imperialist class education or a new Museum of the Youth Movement.
The author remarks to many of the great cultural attractions he has visited: "... Recreational and cultural facilities are not a means of earning capitalist parasites but a means of enriching the cultural and emotional lives of the people." And concludes: "Being in the DPRK is like being in a dream. ... Countries without internal conflicts or contradictions ... I have become more committed to studying the idea of the chuck and the idea of songun and to make our work even better. "
Not frightened by threats
Celebrating the 105th anniversary of the birth of the great leader, April 2017, I also participated, so in this case I can compare with Comrade Hudson, although we had a common part of the program. The British delegation was three-member, as well as Czechoslovak, among some 90 delegates from around 20 countries. A description of the military parade and manifestations of the working writer ends with the words: "When the civilian show ended, dear marshal Kim Jong Un waved the audience. We were in enthusiastic applause. Dear Marshal waved us, his face was clear and happy, his smile was like the sun giving life to people. Indeed, dear marshal Kim Jong Un is the sun of the 21st century. "
Comrade Dermot Hudson spoke at a seminary at the People's Palace of Culture and at a gathering of the people of Korea to bring revenge to Sinchon, the first foreigner in history. (Sinchon can be imagined to be about 180 times the Lidice, but with a much more brutal assassination by the US imperialists and their leftists than the German Nazis did in Lidice.)
The Fourteenth visit of Comrade Hudson to Korea, as last described in this book (fortunately not the last total), took place in August 2017 on the occasion of the 5th International Festival to celebrate the great personalities born of Mount Paektu. The British delegation was three-member. The festival took place during a period of intense tension when "a scowling jester who occupies the position of the US president spoke of the unleashing of" fire and anger "against the people of Korea, followed by several sanctions by the UN Security Council (a corrupt and selling body fully controlled by US imperialism and superpowers) . "
"People in the DPRK were not shaken or intimidated by the threats of the US imperialists ... No other country in the world is so strong in an anti-imperialist spirit and revolutionary zeal! It was a big contrast with a neighboring country, China, where all sorts of capitalist waste are readily accepted, and the contrast with exhausted, overwhelmed bureaucratic, revisionist-led socialist countries in Europe that I visited in the 1980s. As long as the People's Republic of Korea is guided by the militant anti-imperialist idea of Juche and self-sufficiency, it can never collapse! "
The festival was attended by 300 delegates from around the world. The highlight of the program was the gathering at sunrise at the top of Paektu Mountain, the holy mountain of revolution and the cradle of the Korean nation, and the visit of the Paektusan secret camp, the birthplace of great general Kim Jong Il . Dermot Hudson spoke at the International Solidarity Assembly with the Korean people.
Dermot Hudson's book brings a lot of interesting insights from a country that "basically holds the red flag high in the world and maintains socialist principles, though others, like Soviet revisionists and the Chinese, have shamefully rejected them . " It also disputes the outrageous lies spread by hostile propaganda and doubters. The findings of Comrade Hudson of Korea and his assessment of Korean socialism are also of interest to Czech and Slovak readers, as well as many of our supporters in the DPRK have been excited about Korean socialism after disappointing the decline of the world revolutionary movement and the bitter fate of various revisionist concepts. Of the activists of the Czech and Slovak movement of friendship with folk Korea, no one has been in Korea since 1989 for so long as Comrade Hudson, but the impressions of all who have had the chance to visit the country of Juche completely agree with the very positive evaluation of author Comrade Hudson . Also, the responses to visits to Korea from other foreign friends we met are quite positive and enthusiastic. This confirms that Comrade Hudson writes about the paths to Korea sincerely and openly, quite differently from the bumps of tendency writers from the ranks of commercial tourists and self-styled "Koreanists," blinded by consumerism and individualism, and looking for shortcomings in the socially more developed country of the world.

Action for Reinstatement
A nationwide campaign for release of member Lee Seok-gi of the Unified Progressive Party and reinstatement of the UPP is brisk throughout south Korea.
Lee’s arrest is a foolish farce that the Park Geun-hye regime incited the former president Yang Soong-tae of the Supreme Court and henchmen of judicial circles to fabricate the case when the nationwide anti-government protests were held by scandal of fraudulent presidential election in December 2014.
The Supreme Court sentenced Lee (He is in prison) to nine years in prison on charge of violation of the National Security Law and eventually the UPP was dissolved.
On Dec. 19, the measure committee for probing truth behind forced dissolution and reinstatement of the UPP urged the government to make a stern investigation into the dissolution of the UPP and release of Lee.
The measure committee called a news conference outside the Supreme Court at which it claimed that the dissolution of the UPP and arrest of Lee are the worst crisis as well as political scheme of the south Korean politics that violated the constitution in the name of the constitution.
The measure committee said that a special court bench is needed and enactment of special law is urgent for extending a helping hand to the victims and added that it would launch nullity reexamination of dissolution of the UPP, if custody of Yang Soong-tae, former president of the Supreme Court, release of Lee Seok-gi and reinstatement of the UPP are realized.
On Dec. 8, 20, 000 people of fifty-six organizations including the Solidarity for Progress, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the National Employees' Union held a rally at the Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul and declared that it would launch aprotest rally outside the Cheongwadae if the south Korean authorities would not permit the release of Lee, chanting slogans in demand of release of Lee and arrest of Yang.
The judicial officials asserted that the Constitutional Court’s decision for dissolution of the UPP should be withdrawn as it branded the UPP an underground revolutionary organization. |

Low grade anti -DPRK b....shit from the trendy liberal Guardian
Low grade anti -DPRK b....shit from the trendy liberal Guardian today (only these days the 'Guardian ' is not so liberal , out of favour with the likes of Stop the War and the soft Left) proclaiming "From famine to feast ' . Not very original propaganda plus the old racist and colonialist cliche 'hermit kingdom ' is used (when will they stop using it ?) .
Back in September this year ,a delegation of UK KFA and Juche Idea Study Group members visited the DPRK and saw no famine . We went for a walk at night and saw well stocked shops . Rather than seeing a 'famine' we saw bustling bars and restaurants . In fact that the 'arduous march' and 'forced march ' came to an end in the DPRK about 19 years and even at the height of the worst of that period , it was inaccurate and a play on words to talk of a 'famine'.
In People's Korea citizens are supplied with food at low prices and on some special occasions are given groceries free of charge . There are many shops , supermarkets and restaurants so there is a good choice of food .
Rather than south Korea being the paradise that the 'Guardian ' makes out (too much Christmas sherry already or whatever liberal Yuppies drink ?) it actually has the highest suicide rate in the world , a low birth rate , a low rate of marriage . It is a society riven by poverty , homelessness, unemployment and inequality .

Rodong Sinmun Praises Chairman Kim Jong Il's Exploits in Army-Building
Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial on Monday that Chairman Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on Dec. 24, Juche 80 (1991) was a historic event of great significance for our country and revolution.
Thanks to his assumption, steady continuity was given to the lifeline of Juche revolution started in Mt. Paektu, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea proudly emerged as a world military power and the history of the invincibility of socialist Korea vigorously continues century after century, the editorial says, and goes on:
Kim Jong Il is an invincible and iron-willed commander who had performed the undying feats in building the Juche-oriented army with his outstanding military wisdom and rare commanding art.
Under his Songun revolutionary leadership, the people's army was developed into a reliable main force of the revolution and construction, the national power with the military muscle as its core signally boosted and the firm springboard for building a socialist power provided.
It is his exploits to be specially recorded in the history of building the Juche-oriented army that he developed the KPA into the revolutionary army of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Kim Jong Il opened a new chapter in building the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces by setting forth the line of modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism and setting it as the general task for army-building to turn the KPA into the army of the leader and the Party both in name and in reality.
It is his exploits to remain long in the national history that he built the self-defensive power capable of reliably defending the independent dignity and safety of the country and people.
It is entirely attributable to the powerful self-defensive military capabilities provided under the care of Kim Jong Il that the Korean people have courageously made a dynamic advance along the road of independence, the road of socialism chosen by them while enjoying the stable life without a war for several decades.
The great exploit he performed for the cause of building the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces is that he successfully settled the issue of succession to the leadership over the army-building.
The editorial calls for eternally glorifying the exploits Kim Jong Il performed in building the revolutionary armed forces, and striving to bring earlier the final victory in building a socialist power, closely rallied around the Central Committee of the Party. -0-

ICCSS Statement on the 27th anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander of the KPA

The International Central Committee for Songun Study issued the following statement on the 27th anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army which occurs on the 24th of December:
27 years ago on the 24th of December the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea elected comrade KIM JONG IL as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army , putting him at the head of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK .
At the time when comrade KIM JONG IL became Supreme Commander of the KPA in 1991 the US and other imperialists were running wild to stifle the DPRK, the bastion of Juche-based socialism , talking about the “end of history “ and the “collapse of communism”. The imperialists schemed to destroy the DPRK because it was upholding the banner of socialism. There was even wild talk of pre-emptive strikes on DPRK nuclear facilities .Comrade KIM JONG IL took decisive and resolute measures and led the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK in defending the country from US imperialism. In March 1993 he put the KPA and armed forces of the DPRK onto a semi war state to cope with the war provocations of the Yankee imperialists as well as having the withdrawal from the unjust “Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty “ or NPT declared . This stunned the imperialists and forced them to enter into talks with the DPRK.
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was always on the frontline against imperialism and even visited Panmunjom in November 1996 right under the noses of the reactionary US imperialists.
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL did not bend to the US imperialists pressure and diktat but instead pushed ahead Songun revolutionary leadership and developed the DPRK’s own nuclear deterrent in defiance of US led imperialism. The DPRK carried out is first nuclear test in October 2006 and second nuclear test in May 2009.The nuclear thunder of Juche terrified the imperialists.
We remember the great exploits made by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army .
Today the work of comrade KIM JONG IL is carried forward by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , the successor to the Songun revolutionary cause.

KCNA Commentary Urges Japan to Swim with Trend of Times
Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are going reckless to derail the regional situation.
Recently it carried out the test-fire of SM-3 Block 2A co-developed with the U.S. in the waters off Hawaii.
Earlier, the Japan Defense Ministry simultaneously made boreholes for ground survey in the Mutsumi drilling ground and the Araya drilling ground belonging to the Ground "Self-Defense Forces," sites proposed for ground interceptor missile system Aegis Usher, and made it known to the public.
Japan's incitement of the bellicose atmosphere is a serious act of harassing peace to chill the peace atmosphere on the Korean peninsula and the region and strain the situation.
The new trend for peace created on the Korean peninsula has positive impact on the peace and stability of the region and the world.
It is something strange to see Japan, which benefits more than others from the hot wind for peace, going busy with military actions while getting vocal about the non-existent "threats from north Korea".
It is the revelation of the crafty trick of the Japanese reactionaries to further ratchet up the tension on the Korean peninsula and meet their own interests.
The present favorable situation deprives Japan, a country that has rushed headlong to become "a war-capable country" up to now since its defeat, of any justifications to realize its military giant ambition.
This is the reason that the Abe authorities complained about the security environment around Japan in the new "defence guidelines program", saying that it is rapidly getting worse, and deceived the international community.
In actuality, Japan is rushing for a war-capable state that could inflict disaster on humankind again.
It decided to increase defence expenditure 6.4 % for the coming five years.
While envisaging investing huge fund equivalent to the military spending of world's military powers in the purchase for F-35 and other ultra-modern arms and equipment and weapon development, it is going to remodel Maritime "Self-Defense Force's" escort ship Izmo into an aircraft carrier.
It is natural to hear the voices of the worried public at home and abroad calling for "scrutiny into the necessity for the introduction of the U.S. interceptor missile defence system."

KIM JONG IL as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army . This was a deeply significant event that is enshrined in the memory of not just the Korean people but Juche idea and Songun idea followers throughout the world .
Comrade KIM JONG IL was appointed as Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) by the 19th plenary meeting of the 6th Central Committee of the Workers ' Party reflecting the will of the entire Korean people . Also the world revolutionary peoples were happy to see comrade
KIM JONG IL take the post of supreme commander of the KPA,previously held by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , because socialism had been frustrated in many countries owing to the intrigue of the modern revisionists and tricks of the imperialists , people worried what would happen to People's Korea which was now advancing along the road of socialism . Would it be the target of attack by the US imperialists just like Iraq was in 1991 ? , would it fall to the secret schemes of the imperialists just as the USSR had ? .These were questions that exercised the minds of progressive people . By appointing comrade KIM JONG IL as the supreme commander of the KPA , the DPRK answered the questions . Firstly , by solving the succession issue which had caused problems in other socialist countries and their ultimate downfall . Secondly, it placed comrade KIM JONG IL who had accumulated great experience during his years of Songun revolutionary leadership that had began on the 25th of August 1960 . Comrade KIM JONG IL had guided the DPRK 's revolutionary armed forces in their confrontation with US imperialism , the ringleader of world imperialism . Comrade KIM JONG IL given counsel during the Pueblo incident , the EC121 incident and Panmunjom incident . When comrade KIM JONG IL took the post of Supreme Commander of the KPA he ensured that the militant Songun line was continued and that the provocations and pressure of US imperialism were smashed .
The period after the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL became supreme commander of the KPA was a very tense one . Taking advantage of the collapse of the USSR the US imperialists launched wars all over the world such as in Yugoslavia (which had previously been a peaceful unified country ) , Somalia , Iraq and other places . The US wanted to knock down the DPRK , the bastion of socialism in the world that was upholding the red flag of socialism . The US imperialists fabricated the first 'nuclear crisis ' and staged war exercises against with the south Korean puppets . Comrade KIM JONG IL responded by ordering the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK into a semi-war state and declaring the DPRK's intention to quit the one-sided and unfair 'Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty ' which had been concocted by the imperialists and big power chauvinists . This was a great blow to the US imperialists and shook them rigid , so they entered into negotiations with the DPRK .
I can remember how in 1994 comrade KIM JONG IL , the supreme commander of the KPA dealt another blow to the US imperialists . One cold December day , I woke up in my flat and turned the radio on . The pips for 7am went and BBC Radio Four announced ' anti-aircraft gunners in north Korea say they have shot down a US army helicopter' . I was excited to hear that , I put on song

A most stirring song .I applauded the action of the KPA commanded by comrade KIM JONG IL at last someone had hit back against the arrogant US imperialists ! .The 1980s and early 1990s were a bad time , a time of abject surrender and capitulation to imperialism but the DPRK stood out as a shining light , a fortress of independence. One crew member of the helicopter was killed and the other one was captured . The captured crew member was only released after the US issued an apology to the DPRK .
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL not only faced down the US imperialists but augmented the self-defence capabilities of People's Korea by turning it into a nuclear power.
Today we recall the great work done by comrade KIM JONG IL as the supreme commander of the revolutionary armed forces of People's Korea, work that is now contuined by his loyal and capable successor respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .
